On this blog you can find my ramblings about the baby Dear Jane's® (all 225 patterns).

I will regularly post a picture about the ‘babies’ that have been constructed. Each block is unique and belong to its maker, Jane A. Stickle, they are all derived from the original ‘mother’ quilt:

‘In War Times 1863 Pieces 5602 Jane A. Stickle’.

D7 – Meeting place

Dear Jane,

Well this will surprise you I’m sure. I’ve finished another baby Jane! This one only took me 2,5 hours to complete. Impressive isn’t it. I’m so glad you finally designed an easy block.

As you can see in the collage above I naturally made a little mistake, which was quickly altered.

IMG_7775 It is definitely a beauty. Juud provided the fabric. It is lovely, isn’t it? As I was on a roll I decided to cut the templates for the next block.

2012_01_031This block will be a little more challenging. Decided to do E6 – Michelle’s Medley next. It is also a teaser. The block in the book doesn’t look like the template, although the template is exactly the same as the template from the Dear Jane Quilt Design Software. I guess I will stick to the template. Have you noticed this discrepancy?  How did you do it? Must check out your original quilt. Looking at this picture of your quilt I see the block is similar to the one in the book.

Grrrr, what am I going to do? Well I’ll sleep on it. Jane, thanks for another enjoyable evening.

Helen, the quiltmaker.

  1. Het is weer een lief blokje en weer een blokje dichterbij het einde ;)
    Tot zaterdag!

  2. Daar is die, de inhaalslag! Well done helen, mooi blokje.

  3. Hi Helen. I am back doing some work on my baby Jane as well. I did discover an alternate block in the Dear Jane software - block library - that is closer to the one in the quilt. I will probably do that block instead. I find the software a bit tricky to navigate at times. I print my blocks out on freezer paper - I have been without a printer for a while but got a new wireless one for Christmas so I am back to my quilt!
